A dilemma.

I received an email in my company mail box today. For those of you who don't know, I own a Chinese/American manufacturing and sourcing company. So I get this mail, and it is from a potential client who wants me to source GSM phones with his company logo printed on them.

Normally I would write back or call immediately but this email came from....Nigeria.

He gives his name, phone, fax, website address. Everything points to legitimacy. And yet, I do not want to write back because Nigerians have become synonymous with scams. Ethically how do I handle this properly?

I would ask "The Ethicist" column in the New York Times Magazine, but I need a faster answer.
