While I was IMing with one of my partner's in China this morning, she inquired about my sister, who is due to give birth on June 27. She asked me: "Has your sister released yet?"

She is amazing, her English is really great (unlike my 3rd grade level Mandarin) but every so often she comes up with a gem and we both laugh out loud.

Last week I wrote about the job of keyboardist for the Grateful Dead as one of the most dangerous jobs in the world (all four have died untimely deaths).

I have now found the second most dangerous job in the world. Defense Lawyer for Saddam Hussein.

June 21, 2006 BAGHDAD, Iraq - One of Saddam Hussein's main lawyers was shot to death Wednesday after he was abducted from his Baghdad home by men wearing police uniforms, the third killing of a member of the former leader's defense team since the trial started some eight months ago.

Taking this job would be about as smart as proclaiming yourself Al-Zarqawi's successor (as a certain man did this week).

As if we haven't had news of one horror after another in Iraq, we have a wholly new one to add to torture at Abu-Ghraib, Tens of thousands of civilian deaths, a civil war, beheadings and IEDs, death at he hands of your "partners"

-- Two California soldiers shot to death in Iraq were murdered by Iraqi civil-defense officers patrolling with them, military investigators have found.

The deaths of Army Spc. Patrick R. McCaffrey Sr. and 1st Lt. Andre D. Tyson were originally attributed to an ambush during a patrol near Balad, Iraq, on June 22, 2004.

I am sure they were handed flowers and chocolates right before they were killed. Those poor men and their famlies.
