How many of you are offended by the Easter Bunny? More specifically, how many of you who are non-Christian are offended by the Easter Bunny? This is where "multiculturalism", PC and sensitivism have gone to far, yet again.

ST. PAUL, Minn. AP - The Easter Bunny has been sent packing at St. Paul City Hall.

A toy rabbit, pastel-colored eggs and a sign with the words "Happy Easter" were removed from the lobby of the City Council offices, because of concerns they might offend non-Christians.

A council secretary had put up the decorations. They were not bought with city money.

St. Paul's human rights director, Tyrone Terrill, asked that the decorations be removed, saying they could be offensive to non-Christians.

But City Council member Dave Thune says removing the decorations went too far, and he wonders why they can't celebrate spring with "bunnies and fake grass."

------------

This is the kind of bullshit that fuels the religious right and far right conservatives. It feeds their paranoia about the "atheist, secularist, liberal elite."

As far as I remember, for the last 200 years public displays of Easter Bunnys, Christmas Trees, Menorahs (we had them all in my schools) et.al have not stunted the growth of our country, caused riots or forced millions of immigrants and minority religious groups to go back home because they felt the boot of BUNNY FASCISM on their throats.

I am a proponent of multicultural experience, tolerance and inclusion but these terms do not mean we should be EXCLUDING traditions and harmless displays. Frankly if you are the type of person who would walk into City Hall and be offended by a plastic rabbit and eggs you are probably the real problem, not the bunny.
