Atkins crashes and burns, files for bankruptcy.

Not a surprise. There are only two things you need to do to lose weight. Eat less and exercise more. Anyone who tells you otherwise is a charlatan adept at separating the vulnerable and gullible from their money.

This bozo convinced millions that eating bacon was good and apples bad.

The repercussions were huge. Wonderbread filed for bankruptcy. The Italian pasta industry instituted a HUGE and costly "PASTA FIGHTS BACK" campaign and orange growers went to court. Billions were spent and lost. For what? The bizarre rant of a fat man who cracked hi skull on a patch of ice.

The U.S., and now Europe as well, are getting fatter and fatter every year. Sixty percent of Americans are overweight or obese. Last week on the plane home from Minnesota I was forced to endure the overlapping fat of the man next to me flowing over the armrest onto my lap.

This weekend in Atlantic City hundreds of overweight people were using electric 3 and 4 wheel scooters to get around the casinos and the boardwalk, too fat to walk, they found the inspiration to gamble, and lined up at the all you can eat buffets.

Atkins, South Beach, Suzanne Sommers, The Hollywood, they are all scams and brilliant marketing devices. Eat less, exercise more.
